Well-known American anchor, Dagen McDowell has a likeable personality with knowledge. Her fans noticed that she has lost some weight recently. Is she unwell? Or is it just a lifestyle transformation for health reasons?

Dagen McDowell is a renowned American TV anchor and host. She comes on a number of popular TV shows such as Outnumbered, The Bottom Line, The Five, Gutfeld! and the like. She is a contributor to Fox News channel and is a correspondent of its business news. Moreover, she opines on financial market trends and business prospects.

The 54-year-old Dagen hails from Virginia in the USA. And she completed her graduation from the Wake Forest University. She holds a degree in arts history. She has a good fan following on social media.

But recently, her eagle eyed fans noticed that she has lost an appreciable amount of weight. They are concerned about her well-being. Is Dagen unwell? Does she have any medical problems?

Dagen lost her mother recently

Dagen never spoke publicly about any medical issue. But we know that Dagen was very close to her mother whom she lost of late to stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to the spinal bones and pelvis. On 15th May 2023, Dagen tweeted a photo of her mother with the message:

“In this photo, Momma already knew she had the cancer that would kill her: Stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to her spinal column and pelvis. She hadn’t started treatment or palliative radiation. She was in excruciating pain. But here she was…off to @PHenrysRedHill to help with the July 4th festivities. “What am I supposed to do? Stay in bed and wait to die? That’s not an option.” She celebrated life and all those around her until her last breath.”

Dagen added:

“When your Mom dies, a large part of you dies with her. Life changes forever. It’s never as joyful, never as rich. No one tells you that.”

It is obvious that Dagen was very attached to her mother and enjoyed a loving relationship with her. And after her mother’s recent sad demise, it might have affected her health and led to a bit of weight loss for her. It is but natural. Hope that she is able to cope with this loss and recuperate well.

Dagen speaks for Ivanka Trump

In 2017, there was a lot of media buzz when the famous American luxury department store chain, Nordstrom removed Ivanka Trump’s brand from its store. At that time, Ivanka’s father was the President of the USA.

Earlier in November 2016, the store was still keeping Ivanka’s brand clothing, shoes, handbags and such accessories in their store. But they defended their stand then by tweeting:

“We hope that offering a vendor’s products isn’t misunderstood as us taking a political position,”
“We’re not.”

And the removal of her brand before spring 2017 came amidst the #GrabYourWallet campaign. This campaign asked buyers to not purchase products that had ties with Donald Trump, his family members or his donors. Media outlets blamed this movement for ban of Ivanka’s brand from Nordstrom. Dagen was also one of them who felt so. She said:

“But I think that it’s unfair because she’s not the President. She is a family member with the same last name.”

But the fact was that sales of Ivanka’s brand products had dropped drastically. Nordstrom spokesperson clarified:

“We’ve said all along we make buying decisions based on performance,”
“In this case, based on the brand’s performance, we’ve decided not to buy it for this season,”
