Tragedy as beloved rapper dies 'unexpectedly' at home days after 'feeling sick'

Paul Costict, who was one of the original members of the rap band B-Rock and The Bizz, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57.

Paul passed away on Saturday, October 21, suddenly at his home in Norfolk, VA, which has been devastating news to his family and friends. However, his cause of death is currently unclear.

Rapper Paul Costict was ‘feeling ill’ recently before he died

A family member who spoke of the music star on Wednesday, October 18, told the outlet that he had seemed “in good spirits” but that he had said he told them he was sick. It’s believed the celebrity had been ill before he died, writes TMZ.

As part of B-Rock and The Bizz, which consisted of himself, his brother Leevirt Agee, and Thaddeus T-Bird Mayethe, they had a hit in 1997 with the song My Baby Daddy. The song climbed the charts and eventually hit the top ten on the Billboard 100.

The band was signed to Pound 4 Pound Records, which is a record label based in Miami, after being discovered at a talent show according to The Sun.

Despite them only having fleeting success, Rihanna wore a T-shirt last year during her pregnancy while out and about with her boyfriend (and, of course, baby’s dad). The top referenced the group’s song as it read: “Dat’s just my baby daddy.”

Bandmate pays tribute to the star

Along with being his bandmate, Thaddeus also grew up with Paul in their home state of Alabama. He paid tribute to him by remembering him as “a very funny and Kool brother.”

He said: “PAUL COSTICT was a very funny and Kool brother. We go way back to Blount high school. We always janked. He was so funny. Love you brother rip, please keep me and his family in your PRAYERS. TELL SOMEONE YOU LOVE THEM TODAY AND MEAN IT, LIFE JUST TOO SHORT TO BE HOLDING GRUDGES. I LOVE YOU ALL.”

It is reported that in addition to being a member of the group, he was also their road manager.

The rapper ended up being in a bitter feud with his ex Lasancious after the song went gold. The pair were fighting over the plaque that he was given for the achievement and fought for it in an episode of the TV show Divorce Court.
