Will and Jada Smith will 'stay together forever' in bombshell marriage update

Just months after Jada Pinkett Smith announced to the world that she and her husband Will Smith have been separated since 2016, it looks like their marriage has now taken a U-Turn, as she announces they’ll be “together forever.”

The celebrity couple has been married since 1997, although Jada Pinkett Smith recently made the bombshell revelation that she and Will Smith had been separated since 2016. But her latest statement seems like a complete U-Turn.

Jada Pinkett Smith says she and Will will ‘stay together forever’

Despite the separation, the Red Table Talk host said she and her husband will be “staying together forever,” while discussing her memoir, Worthy, on The Drew Barrymore Show.

In a preview clip, shared by Entertainment Weekly, Drew said: “I feel like maybe your and his shadow separated in a way in this book, whether they stay together forever or not. It sounds like you’re staying together forever.”

“We’re staying together forever. I tried. We tried,” Pinkett Smith responds.

Back in October, Jada revealed on The Today show that the two decided to live separate lives in 2016. The two did not legally divorce, but she told interviewer Hoda Kotb: “Although it was not a divorce on paper, it was a divorce.”

Before last month, their separation was unbeknownst to the public. When asked why they kept it under wraps, Pinket Smith revealed they were just “not ready yet.”

Although she didn’t go into the full details, the star revealed that there were many reasons behind the relationship breakdown, and by the time it got to 2016, they were “exhausted with trying.”
