Naomi Judd was a brilliant singer and actress who was born to Pauline Ruth Polly née Oliver and Charles Glen Judd on January 11, 1946, in Ashland, Kentucky.

Christina Ciminella, later Wynonna Judd, was Naomi Judd’s first child, born when she was 18 years old.

Judd raised both kids as a single mother after the birth of her daughter Ashley in April 1968 and the termination of her marriage to Michael Ciminella.

She completed nursing school at California’s College of Marin and then established a successful singing career with her daughter Wynonna while living in neighboring Lagunitas, California.

Naomi founded the Judds, a tremendously successful singing duo, with her daughter Wynonna Judd.

They had twenty top ten songs, including fifteen number one hits.

They received five Grammy Awards and a flurry of other awards and medals.

Naomi was nominated for a Grammy for her song Love Can Build a Bridge, which was nominated for Country Song of the Year.

Funeral services will be held at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God on Monday at 10 a.m., according to the family.

Memorial Lawn Cemetery will be her final resting place.
