Jodi Sue Huisentruit was an American television news anchor for KIMT, the CBS affiliate in Mason City, Iowa, from June 5, 1968 until somewhere around June 27, 1995. Soon after telling a colleague that she had overslept and was running late for work on June 27, 1995, Huisentruit vanished. Outside of Huisentruit’s apartment, there were indications of a struggle, and Huisentruit is thought to have been kidnapped. However, thorough inquiries have turned up no information about her disappearance. In 2001, she was ruled to be legally dead.
The youngest child of Imogene L. “Jane” Huisentruit (née Anderson, 1923-2014) and Maurice Nicholas Huisentruit (1920-1982), Jodi Huisentruit was born and reared in Long Prairie, Minnesota. [2] Huisentruit excelled at golf in high school. She and her team won the state Class A tournament in 1985 and 1986, and she was thought to be a promising star. She attended St. Cloud State University after high school, where she majored in speech communication and mass communication before earning a bachelor’s degree there in 1990. Northwest Airlines offered Huisentruit his first position following graduation.
She started her broadcasting career as the station’s Iowa City bureau chief for CBS affiliate KGAN in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before moving back to Minnesota to work for ABC affiliate KSAX in Alexandria. Later, Huisentruit relocated back to Iowa to take a job with CBS station KIMT in Mason City.
