Walter Andrew Brennan, an actor and singer, was born on July 25, 1894, in the United States. Brennan was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. His parents were also Irish immigrants. Together with his father, an engineer and inventor, young Brennan attended Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts to study engineering.
In 1925, Brennan, who had been left without money, began working as an extra in movies at Universal Studios, earning $7.50 per day (which would be $125.00 in 2022). In the end, he worked sporadically at Universal for the next twelve years.
