Sydney Carter who was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 18, 1990, is an American retired professional basketball player.
Due to her unique playing skills and her techniques, she was named the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year in her senior year and was also a McDonald’s All-American. However, she played as a point guard during her basketball career.
Carter was selected in the third round as the 27th overall pick by the Chicago Sky, in the 2012 WNBA draft. She played for the Sky during the 2012 season, appearing in 29 games and averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 assists per game.
After her stint with the Sky, Carter played professionally overseas, including stints in Turkey, Poland, and Spain. She also played for the Dallas Wings during the 2016 WNBA preseason. She retired from professional basketball in 2017 and started working as a basketball analyst for ESPN.
