Oliver Vanetta Lynn, Jr. (August 27, 1926 – August 22, 1996), better known as Doolittle Lynn (also Doo and Mooney), was an American talent manager and country music personality, best known as Loretta Lynn’s husband. Lynn was essential in cultivating his wife’s musical skills and country music career during the course of their often-tumultuous 48-year marriage, getting her first guitar, arranging her initial radio performances, and working as her de facto talent manager for many years. Lynn was also the President of Loretta Lynn Enterprises, Inc., a firm established in 1973 to handle Lynn’s commercial affairs.
Five days before turning 70, Oliver Lynn passed away on August 22, 1996. His death was linked to heart failure and diabetes-related health issues. He was laid to rest on the Lynn family farm near Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
