We’ve all been waiting for this day. One Piece season 1 is finally streaming on Netflix, and I’m sure you can’t wait to watch all eight episodes of the live-action adaptation. But before you start binge-watching the new series, we must share with you the parents guide and age rating. This way, you’ll know if it’s appropriate for kids to watch.
One Piece is a Netflix original series created by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda. It’s based on Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga series of the same name and follows young pirate Monkey D. Luffy as he assembles his own pirate crew, finds a ship, and sets sail across the dangerous ocean in search of the world’s most legendary treasure so that he can finally become King of the Pirates.
Talented actor Iñaki Godoy plays the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. The rest of the cast is made up of Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, Taz Skylar, Vincent Regan, Morgan Davies, and many others.
The fantasy adventure series is rated TV-14, meaning it may not be suitable for ages under 14. It was given this maturity rating for strong language, nudity, self-harm, smoking, and graphic violence. There’s also blood, alcohol consumption, and various weapon use. Characters are shown in hand-to-hand combat as well as battles using weapons. Some of the weapons used are swords, guns, cannons, knives, an axe, a Bo Staff, and a spiked iron mace.
