Daria Sergeyevna Kasatkina is a tennis player from Russia. Toward the close of the 2018 season, she broke into the top ten of the Women’s Tennis Association rankings. She has four WTA singles titles and one WTA doubles win.

Kasatkina began practising tennis at the age of six at the suggestion of her older brother. She was a standout youngster, earning the European 16s title and a junior Grand Slam singles victory at the 2014 French Open.

Kasatkina rose fast through the professional ranks, reaching No. 32 in the world at the age of 18 and earning her first WTA championship at the Charleston Open as a teenager.

In 2018, she rose to popularity by placing second to fellow up-and-comer Naomi Osaka in the Premier Mandatory Indian Wells Open, a match widely viewed as defining a new era in women’s tennis.

Daria’s parents, Sergey Kasatkin and Tatyana Kasatkina have Bren married for over 20 years. Daria’s father works as an engineer at the Volga Automotive Plant, while her mother is a lawyer.

Her parents were also national-ranked athletes in Russia, earning the title of “Candidate for Master of Sports.” Her mother was a competitive athlete, while her father was an ice hockey player.

Daria Kasatkina has an older brother named Alexandr.
